Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) Instagram has recently rolled out the version 10.2 of its official app, introducing a major update that allows users to save posts.
Facebook Instagram New Feature
The new feature on Facebook Instagram includes a bookmark icon below each post on a user’s feed. By simply tapping it, a user can already save a particular post for future reference and/or easy access.
With the new Facebook Instagram feature, a user can visit his or her profile to see his or her saved posts. There is a private tab where saved posts can be located. It is quite similar to the saved posts feature on Facebook.
“When you stumble upon a funny video you want to remember, a new outfit you like or even inspiration for an upcoming vacation, you can now keep track of favorite posts right from your profile,” announced Facebook Instagram.
New Facebook Instagram Stories Features
Last month, Facebook Instagram has also introduced a live video feature and direct story sharing with friends on Facebook Instagram Stories.
The introduction of Facebook Instagram Stories in August has enjoyed a massive reception. Since then, an average of 100 million users share their stories through the feature daily. With live video and Facebook Instagram Direct sharing, users can enjoy more ways to share their moments to everyone.
The live video feature enables users to connect with their friends real-time. Whatever has been shared immediately disappears as soon as the live video ends.
To start a live broadcast, a user just needs to swipe right from his or her feed and tap the “Start Live Video” button. M A user’s friends are notified once he or she goes live.
Meanwhile, on Facebook Instagram Direct, users can now send disappearing stories to a friend or group of friends.
To share disappearing stories via Facebook Instagram Direct, a user just needs to swipe right from his or her feed, take a photo or a video, and tap the arrow button to share it privately. A user will be notified if the recipients replay videos or take screenshots of the shared media.
These new Facebook Instagram features are part of the company’s broader growth strategy for the social media platform.
Facebook has closed at $120.21 on Wednesday.
